Editorial Process
The Global Research Journal of Natural Science and Technology (GRJNST) follows a structured, transparent, and rigorous editorial and publication process to ensure the quality, integrity, and academic value of all published work. The journal adopts a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to maintain impartiality and objectivity throughout the evaluation process.
Each manuscript undergoes multiple stages of assessment, from initial submission to final publication, as outlined below.
1. Manuscript Submission and Acknowledgement
Upon submission, the manuscript is received through the journal’s submission system or official email. An acknowledgement of receipt is sent to the corresponding author within 24 hours. At this stage, the manuscript is assigned a unique identification number for tracking and future correspondence.
2. Initial Editorial Screening
The submitted manuscript is reviewed by the editorial office to ensure that it meets the basic requirements of the journal. This includes verification of:
- Relevance to the journal’s scope
- Compliance with author guidelines and formatting requirements
- Completeness of submission (figures, tables, references, etc.)
- Ethical compliance, including plagiarism screening
Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for correction or rejected without external review.
3. Plagiarism Check
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin. A similarity index exceeding the acceptable threshold may result in rejection or a request for revision prior to peer review.
4. Assignment to Reviewers
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The review is conducted under a double-blind system, ensuring that the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential. The reviewers are selected based on their expertise, experience, and absence of conflicts of interest.
5. Peer Review Process
The reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on:
- Originality and novelty of the research
- Scientific accuracy and methodological soundness
- Clarity of presentation and organization
- Relevance to the field and contribution to existing knowledge
The review process typically takes up to two weeks. Reviewers provide detailed comments and recommendations, which may include:
- Acceptance without changes
- Minor revisions
- Major revisions
- Rejection
6. Communication of Review Reports
Once the review reports are received, the editorial office compiles the feedback and communicates the decision to the corresponding author. The comments from reviewers are shared in a constructive manner to guide authors in improving their manuscript.
7. Revision Stage
If revisions are required, authors are requested to submit a revised version of the manuscript within a specified time frame, typically seven days. Authors must address all reviewer comments and provide a clear response to each point raised.
Revised manuscripts may be:
- Re-evaluated by the same reviewers to ensure that the required changes have been adequately addressed, or
- Assessed by the editorial board in cases of minor revisions
Failure to satisfactorily address reviewer comments may result in rejection of the manuscript.
8. Final Decision
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the revised submission, the editorial board makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection. If the manuscript is accepted, an official acceptance letter is issued to the corresponding author within five days.
9. Copyediting and Proofreading
Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting to improve clarity, grammar, formatting, and consistency. The processed version (proof) is sent to the corresponding author for final proofreading and approval. Authors are required to review the proof carefully and return it with any necessary corrections within the stipulated time.
10. Online Publication
After final approval, the article is published online as the official version of record. The corresponding author is notified of the publication and provided with a link to access and download the article. Authors may request corrections only in cases of significant errors within three days of online publication.
11. Print Publication
The journal issue is compiled and published in print form within one week after online publication. This ensures timely dissemination of research in both digital and physical formats.
12. Post-Publication Process
After print publication, authors are requested to provide their complete and accurate mailing address, including ZIP or postal code, within three days. The journal arranges for the dispatch of hard copies of the issue to the authors within one month of print publication.
13. Confidentiality and Integrity
Throughout the editorial process, all submitted materials are treated as confidential. Editors and reviewers are required to maintain strict confidentiality and must not disclose or use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage.
14. Withdrawal and Rejection Policy
Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript at an early stage of the review process. However, once the manuscript has entered the peer review stage or has been accepted, withdrawal requests may not be entertained. Manuscripts that fail to meet the journal’s standards or ethical requirements at any stage may be rejected.
Final Statement
GRJNST ensures that all manuscripts are processed in a fair, timely, and transparent manner. The editorial process is designed to uphold academic excellence, support authors in improving their work, and maintain the credibility and integrity of the journal.
