Plagiarism Policy
The Global Research Journal of Natural Science and Technology (GRJNST) maintains a strict plagiarism policy in accordance with the guidelines established by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The journal is committed to ensuring the originality, authenticity, and ethical integrity of all manuscripts submitted for publication. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical duplication is considered a serious violation and is strictly prohibited.
All submitted manuscripts are required to undergo plagiarism screening using Turnitin or equivalent plagiarism detection software. The similarity index for any manuscript must be below 20%, in accordance with HEC guidelines. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be rejected outright or returned to authors for revision to reduce the similarity score. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources are properly cited and that all text, data, and ideas taken from other works are appropriately attributed.
Plagiarism is considered a serious academic offense and includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct copying of text from previously published work without proper citation.
- Paraphrasing someone else’s work without acknowledgment.
- Self-plagiarism, which occurs when an author reuses their previously published work without proper disclosure or citation.
- Duplicate submission, where the same manuscript is submitted to multiple journals simultaneously.
GRJNST requires authors to certify that their work is original and has not been published elsewhere. Authors must also ensure that any contributions from co-authors or collaborators are properly credited. The journal reserves the right to take strict action if any form of plagiarism is detected, including:
- Immediate rejection of the manuscript prior to peer review.
- Retraction of published articles if plagiarism is discovered post-publication.
- Notification of the author’s institution or funding agency in cases of severe misconduct.
Authors are encouraged to use plagiarism detection tools themselves prior to submission to ensure compliance with the journal’s standards. GRJNST also educates authors about proper citation practices, ethical writing, and responsible research conduct to promote academic integrity.
The journal adheres to the HEC’s guidelines for plagiarism, which provide clear thresholds and procedures for identifying and addressing plagiarism. For more information on the HEC’s plagiarism policies and standards, please visit: HEC Plagiarism Policy.
By submitting a manuscript to GRJNST, authors agree to comply with the journal’s plagiarism policy and understand that violations may lead to formal disciplinary actions, including rejection, retraction, or notification to relevant authorities. GRJNST is committed to maintaining the highest standards of originality and integrity in scientific publishing, ensuring that all research contributions are credible, reliable, and ethically sound.
